What do you leave behind?


I wrote this article a few years ago, and after the last few years, it has become even more clear to me that impact is really what it is all about! It becomes the legacy that you leave with others and the world. I think it is a message worth repeating!

First, let’s describe what “impact” is. Impact is how you make people feel.

To answer that question you need to know what your impact is? Do you know what your impact is?

When you walk into a room, you have an impact. When you are sitting in a meeting and not saying anything you are still having an impact on the people around you. Do you know what that is? What do you notice about how people are reacting to you?

You know that there are some people that when you see them or meet them that you instantly feel rapport with them. Or, on the other side, there are some people that you instantly feel a reaction that is not so positive.

What if….you intentionally chose the impact you want to have? What if…..you were mindful of the impact you had on other people? What if….you chose consciously your impact all the time...what legacy you want to leave behind!

How would that help you be more effective, influential, inspiring, engaging, and so much more?

So, how do you get feedback on the impact you have?

You notice how others are reacting to you, you ask people for information about how you show up and your presence, and you can work with a coach!

You may think asking for feedback is a scary notion….in reality, it is something that you can use to build rapport with others and sell more, influence more, engage more, inspire more and so much more.
